Taking it to the MAX....

Enjoyed the second viewing of Transformers 2. It's a great action flick, with some amazing special effects and action scenes. Only problem is it is a bit long and not quite as good as the first one. But if you like these sort of films I'm sure you'll love it.

Anyway watching this on the Imax cinema screen in Manchester was amazing!! An 8 story cinema screen that has perfect images and with sound so loud, in certain parts you could actually feel the seats shaking! Amazing! They are showing the new Harry Potter film there in Imax 3D. I feel another trip coming on. Downside is that it's not that cheap. £11 for the reserved seats at the back, which you have to be in as too close will give you a servere neck ache and possible whiplash!

Outside...

So for the countless time,I'm sitting in my garden surfing away enjoying this great weather. I refuse to feel guilty about missing so much Wimbledon. If I was inside watching it I'd feel guilty about missing our much deserved summer.

I've even got planting!!! I have lettuce leaves, chilli, basil, coriander and some strange cabbage walking stick type plants all sprouting. Will take some pics very soon.

Films I've seen...(and yet too see.)

Of to see Transformers 2 tonight, and I'm really looking forward to it. Won tickets on Signal radio, so they were free which is an added bonus. I'm also going Manchester to see it on Saturday at the imax (an 8 story cinema screen which is meant to be fabulous!!) So I'm hoping it's a good one.

The Hangover- A great film, very funny and made me miss Vegas so much. Much better than I thought it was going to be.

Drag Me to Hell- I seriously felt like I was in hell. It seemed like it was going to be a good one when it first started. It then went completly downhill. I think it's because "comedy" (I use that word loosly) and the horror for me just don't mix.

Something I've just realised.....

I won't be here for the mens final. I'll be in Italy. Arrgghh. Depending who's playing, I may have to find a bar that is showing the match. (I know, it's a hard life!)

Anyone for Tennis?

Centre Court

To celebrate the start of Wimbledon today, here are a few pictures that I took while I was there last year...I seriously can't believe how fast this has gone by!!
Murray.

Looking forward to some good games the next two weeks, hope the rain keeps off, even though they now have a roof in place! Even though I'm not a big Murray fan, but a Brit (OK Scot) winning would be fantastic. Although I do really like Roger, a genuine guy who is probably thr best player there is.

Roddick

As for the Women...Not sure, as long as it's not one of the Willaims that's OK by me!

"Get fit" they say....."get a loan" I say....

Last year I started to do a lot more swimming, throughout the spring/summer and autumn months. I stopped during the winter ones as it was just too cold. I wasn't doing anything major but I did manage to do 2 or so miles a week. The pool I go to was doing a bCheck Spellingonus card type scheme. A swim with a drink afterwards came in at just over £2.00.

I started back again and to my horror the price has increased to just under £4.00!!! That would take me to nearly a tenner a week to do the exercise I want. The scheme with the card has finished. The reason?? The lady on the counter said because children and the elderly get it for free now (which I think it's great BTW) that the centre has to get back some money somehow.

How about subsidising the whole tariff? That way everyone benefits and us poor people that are between the ages of 16 and 60 can get some exercise too. It's just too expensive for me too swim once or twice a week now, well if I want to live and eat that is!

Things to come....

Over the last few weeks I've had a loads of leaflets posted through the door. Different party's begging me for votes. One leaflet in particular was in the form of a poster with the words..."Proudly post this in your window, Proud to be a member of the BNP". It then gave detailed information (about 3-4 lines approx) about the issues we face today and gives the BNP solution. It was written in such away (or maybe just maybe it was taken out of context??) that when I read it I thought "yeah I agree with that".

I can only hope that this is the reason they gained seats in last weeks elections and not the fact that people know what they actually stand for.

If a message is to be sent to our goverment, there are different ways I'm sure.

How's it fair, when it clearly 'aint OK??

We are all by know sick of hearing about the MPs and their expenses...claiming anything from Kit Kat's, toilet seats and dirty movies to even more essential items like swimming pools and massage chairs. On and on this has rolled on, with thousands upon thousands of pounds of our money gone to waste , with no police investigation, it seems life as a politician has it's perks.

A woman in Staffordshire has been claiming as a single parent, who's living alone and unemployed. In fact she is working, lives with her partner. It turns out she has managed to get over £50.000.

Of course this is wrong, but why has this woman been charged, had a fine and is now facing a jail term and our politicians are getting away with basically the same?

Surfin' al fresco......

My new net book is very nifty. I can just about get a wireless signal outside. So I'm sitting in my garden with a pot of coffee in the glorious sunshine surfing away.

Very nice.
